King Buffet

"So much food choices to choose from. I enjoy these places. I feel a very good value for what they charge. I was staying at a near by hotel."

"So I hit up King Buffet in Sherman today, and... oof. It's one of those places where the concept is solid, but the execution? Not so much. Let's start with the floors. Sticky. Everywhere. Like, your shoes audibly protest with every step. It set the tone immediately, and not in a good way. The food? Lukewarm at best, and clearly had been sitting out for a while. Most of it was just tired. The flavor wasn't terrible--you could tell it could be decent if it were fresh and hot--but unfortunately, it wasn't either of those things. The sushi rice was basically crunchy, so yeah... it had definitely passed its prime. Now, credit where it's due: the Mongolian grill was actually pretty good. Fresh ingredients, cooked right in front of you, and hot--go figure. So if you do end up there, maybe just stick to that station and call it a win. The building itself looks nice from the outside, but there's this awful smell when you walk in that hits you like a wall. It does get better the closer you get to the buffet, but the initial impression isn't doing them any favors. Bathroom was oddly dark, but at least it was clean and well-stocked. Small wins, I guess. All in all, the experience felt like a mix of "this could be great" and "someone please change the sushi out." Would I go back? Maybe if I was starving and only wanted Mongolian grill. Otherwise, probably not."

"I used to be a regular customer here until I moved out of state and hadn't been there for 2 years, until tonight. The food, the restaurant and especially the service, was EXACTLY as i remembered, excellent! I was treated with kindness and THAT is worth my loyalty every time I come to town!!!"

"I Celebrated my Mother's Day here, while the hot food was disappointingly lukewarm, I thoroughly enjoyed the ceviche with calamari. The service and staff were exceptionally amazing and welcoming. I Received a beautiful light-up rose which was truly touching gesture that brought me to tears and made the evening even more special."
